Beware the robots

Keep hands away from robot arms.I finally got around to downloading all the random pictures I've taken over the last few months from my camera and came across this one that never ceases to amuse me. This sticker was attached to a fairly beefy linear actuator that appeared in the lab one afternoon. We still haven't come up with a use for it, but I'm sure there'll be something.

I started a new job and moved into a new apartment, so I haven't been posting much lately. I did switch the blog to Django a few weeks ago, and am loving it so far. Django gives me the best of both worlds; I can build the app with as much strange code as I want, but I still get the advantages of a supported system. I've also been playing around with developing other small web apps with it. Nothing notable yet, but I have a few ideas.

Nonetheless, things should be a bit more reliable now. I've been setting up mirrors of my site on just about every server I've got access to and can get an Apache vhost on. Currently, only two of the servers are in DNS, one in Rochester, NY and the other in Scottsdale, AZ.

I've got a ton of other stuff to talk about with my new setup in the apartment, but it'll have to wait for another day. Perhaps this is my motivation to finally do a tech podcast. Stay tuned for updates.
